Under unusual conditions, the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open was staged in mid-September as one of the few Ladies European Tour events. Over the three-day event, the best European women professionals played on the demanding course of the Holzhäusern Golf Park (Switzerland). The event was won by the jubilant British player Amy Boulden, who also achieved her first victory on the Ladies European Tour (LET). From a Swiss perspective, the sensational third place achieved by Kim Métraux was equally a cause for celebration.
Following the tournament, CEO Paul Arni drew a positive balance: “With the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open we have achieved a revival of women’s golf in Switzerland. We are proud to be a co-initiator and partner of this project and to have staged the première so successfully under the current difficult circumstances”. VP Bank and the players of the Ladies European Tour are already looking forward to next year’s event which is scheduled on 9 – 11 September 2021.
